For woodland birdwatching, Browns Road is the place to be. You can spot 40-odd species, including four or five endangered species, such as restless flycatchers and diamond firetails.

 

Meet at Laratinga Wetlands carpark (Bald Hills road, Mt Barker) at 9:00am and carpool or travel separately. Bring binoculars, walking shoes, hat, water, sunscreen, chair, morning tea ...

Meet at the Bald Hills road picnic area entrance to Laratinga Wetlands prior to a 30-40 minute walk around the wetlands. Walk is approximately 2km, but shorter or longer walk can be an individual choice.
 
Enjoy a coffee afterwards at one of the coffee shops in Mount Barker. Hat, walking shoes and water advisable.
