The Men's Shed is a program of the Mt Barker Community Centre. Members choose to work on their own projects or help with projects that support the community. It is also a social environment where members have a chat and a cup of coffee with new friends.

Tour the shed, meet some members, enjoy morning tea and a Ukulele session. (BYO ukulele if you wish)

Call this a car rally, a scavenger hunt or treasure hunt! Whatever it is, it's a chance to explore a bit of our backyard otherwise not visited too often, learn a few facts and engage in a little friendly competition. (Range limited to 50kms radius from central Hills location.) Finish with a BYO picnic, a winery visit or rely on local providores for lunch. Be away for a few hours or make it a fun day out.

Ask adventurous friends to be part of your team, but enrolments from drivers only please. A complete information package will be given on the day at the commencement of the rally.

For woodland birdwatching, Browns Road is the place to be. You can spot 40-odd species, including four or five endangered species, such as restless flycatchers and diamond firetails.


Meet at Laratinga Wetlands carpark (Bald Hills road, Mt Barker) at 9:00am and carpool or travel separately. Bring binoculars, walking shoes, hat, water, sunscreen, chair, morning tea ...
