Dear 2020 Members
COVID-19 – response
You may have already received notification from your course organiser that it has been decided to, disappointingly, cancel all U3A Adelaide Hills activity from now until the end of this school term (Easter) when the Committee will review the situation.
The difficult decision to cancel was made after considering several factors, including:
Removing confusion and uncertainty
Health departments recommending social distancing as the best way to slow the transmission of the virus
Our activities are non-essential in terms of government definitions
Our membership is considered more at risk that the general population
Our activities are mostly held in confined spaces
Some of our activities have already been cancelled or deferred
Over the past week we have had several inquiries from members and presenters as to the status of activities, with many members saying that they will not be attending courses in the current climate. Since the decision was made this morning, there has been nothing but support from members - thank you.
We acknowledge the amount of time organisers and presenters put into preparing and delivering the program and hope that it won’t be too long before all courses and activities are resumed. Please pass this on to others
